Harborlight Newfoundlands is selling this dog as a pet/companion animal unless purchased with an Open AKC Registration.
The Purchaser agrees to have this dog evaluated by a licensed veterinarian of their choice within four days of delivery.
It is understood that this dog is not to be used for breeding if sold to the Purchaser with a limited registration. Harborlight Newfoundlands guarantees for a period of twelve months from the whelp date that this puppy will be free of hereditary or congenital defects and abnormalities which would prevent it from being a good pet or companion and the breeder has used standard breeding practices to produce high quality puppies that are free of hereditary defects such as crippling hip dysplasia, SAS (subacute aortic stenosis), or cystinuria. Even though we have a responsible breeding program, there may be an unlikely event of such problems that are not detected prior to placement due to unknown heredity or environmental causes.  If that were to happen within the first twelve months of life, the breeder will replace the puppy from a subsequent litter if a heart or hip problem is severe and crippling or life-threatening and the initial diagnosis is confirmed by an independent veterinarian who specializes in such problems.  Any veterinary records would naturally need to be reviewed by the breeder's team of vets prior to any replacement.  In the unlikely event that a puppy would replace a prior puppy, the original defective  dog/puppy would be surrendered to the breeder, along with all AKC paperwork and veterinary records, at the purchaser's expense.  If the purchaser decides to keep the puppy/dog, there will be no obligation on the part of the breeder to replace the puppy.
A copy of all veterinary evaluations, treatments and vaccinations is furnished to the Purchaser at delivery.

Seller does not guarantee that this dog  is of show quality or will win any competitions or shows.
If at any time the Purchaser is unable to keep this dog, Harborlight Newfoundlands will be notified and will make recommendations regarding adoption or may take the dog back with no obligation.
The Purchaser will provide regular veterinary care including but not limited to vaccinations, heart worm prevention, and checkups. The dog will be given proper shelter, food and water and will not be abused in any way. The feeding of any food other than Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy Food in the amount indicated for the individual puppy's weight will immediately void any health guarantee.  It has been undeniably proven that the feeding of Eukanuba dog foods significantly decreases health problems in the Newfoundland breed.  There will be daily attention directed toward this dog. The dog will be licensed as per the Purchaser’s community protocol. We strongly encourage spaying or neutering of this dog unless it has been purchased by a Newfoundland breeder with an Open AKC registration for breeding purposes.  In the event this dog is not spayed or neutered at the age recommended by the veterinarian, and has been purchased with a limited AKC registration, any offspring which may be whelped shall not be sold, leased, consigned or given to any breeder or pet store.  Any offspring produced with this dog if sold with an Open AKC registration shall only be sold privately and directly from the breeder who owns the dog.
The seller is not liable for any damages or injury caused by this dog.
A deposit of $300.00 (US funds) is required to reserve your puppy. The purpose of the deposit is to reserve your puppy.  The deposit is nonrefundable unless the breeder is not able to furnish you with a puppy of the sex you requested within twelve months.  Any balance owing on the puppy and any transportation expenses are required prior to delivery of your puppy.  All payments paid within two weeks of delivery must be in certified funds or cash.
